And another Beauty from the 60`s: Eterna Matic Vintage Super Kontiki. With all the Super Kontiki Divers watch Specs ; therefore I`d say, it is a Super Kontiki with a Trial Dial in Orange. The orange/brownish bezel insert seems to fit that narrative. Eterna Matic has and had orange dials before. Good example with the usual dings and case dents for a Tool Watch. One dent in the case around 9 o`clock. Looks well taken care of. The usual back opening scratches from Watch Butchers. Good screw in oversized crown. Original thick crystal with the eterna dots in the middle. Original Super Kontiki Hands in black with vintage Lume. The hands are factory black. All functions fine; the setting/winding section needs attention, because the little spring, that defines the pull out steps, is a bit weak. All can be set, wound and date changed. Just put a little outward pressure on.
A few case imperfections outside. No rust at all inside.
The back screws in with a good thread. All correct case and back and movement configuration. The gold plaque in the back has not much wear!
All Stars are very well preserved. Now to the bezel: the Super Kontiki Bezel setup is a complicated one. Most people have no idea, how the bezel friction is achived. That very often culminates in seized bezels, damaged inner set ups, glued on inserts... Here we have the original and working setup.
The bezel insert is snaped in, as it should be. It is cracked at 12 o`clock. But that does not affect the function. To change the bezel friction, you remove the bezel insert first. Get access to the inner 2 part setup and adjust the friction via 2 small screws. All there; all functioning; small screws a bit rusted. But can be replaced without a problem.We left everything as is; because it has the correct friction when turned. We are trading vintage watches for over 28 years.
