RARE Mariano Fortuny 1910s Edwardian Blue Delphos Micro Pleat Gown Glass Beads

Once in a lifetime do you get the opportunity to own a museum quality piece. This original Mariano Fortuny Delphos gown is made of his signature micro pleated silk, handmade glass beads, and still remains with the gold embossed flat silk belt. To add to its rarity this spectacular gown is in a French provincial blue hue that is not often found.

A drawstring of silk cord is threaded through a narrow tunnel around the neckline, and this is the only closure. Handmade fimo glass beads are sewn on the edges from the shoulder to the hem and none are missing. The label is handwritten on a piece of fabric and sewn into the side sideseam.

Under the armhole there is a small hole approximately 3/4th of an inch long. All of the Murano glass beads are intact and not shattered. There are a few areas of spots. The most notable is a quarter of an inch wide towards the neckline.

There is light discoloration in the interior of the neckline. The belt is printed on one side and one end has 2 pinholes from where a brooch was.

There is no closure for the belt. It has been stored rolled up. We are happy to share additional photos and close ups upon request. Measurements are in inches and taken unstretched and laying flat.
