Vintage 1950's Rolex Oyster 6282 Rare Sub Seconds Dial Excellent Condition
Vintage Rolex 6282 Sub Second Manual wind. Very nice vintage manual wind Rolex Oyster 6282. Marked 6282 inside back case and Brevet 6282 between the lugs at 12 O'clock, and only last 3 serial numbers visible between the lugs on 6 O'clock side. The first number is the number that would identify the year that this case was manufactured during the 1950's. This stainless case measures 34mm not including crown and is in beautiful condition. I took the watch to my veteran watchmaker and he says that the dial appears original to him. With a loupe and microscope he could find no "blemishes" to the minute marks, numerals, or text. He compared the dial surface to my 1954 6085, which has been refinished, and my 6085 clearly to the naked eye and under a loupe, is a painted surface. While the 6282 dial is described as like a single piece of smooth material that covers a refrigerator or similar. This means to me that when the dial was made, the exact dimensions were off just a hair, and this was the result. I'm no expert, but i believe the dial is technically an original dial. BUT, not one made in 1950's for this exact watch. Not sure who is capable or who would make such a good aftermarket Rolex dial, especially with recessed indices & Coronet, but it definitely hasn't been "repainted" like most redials are. Also most repainted redials aren't done very well and can be immediately identified. There are exceptions of course. Without knowing 100% if the dial is a remake of some sort or original, i will list the dial as being expertly and beautifully redone. It has a screw down Rolex crown in great condition. 15 jewel signed Rolex hand wound caliber 710 movement that winds very smooth, sets, and keeps great time. Movement serial number is 34233.

The 6282 reference I have found to be one of the most versatile. It is a bit thinner than a semi bubbleback because of its hand wind movement while maintaining great wrist presence. This means that it looks equally great with a jubilee bracelet, straight lug oyster bracelet, curved end link oysters AND leather straps/NATOs. I have owned many Rolexes and none of them look good or fit just any strap/bracelet type.

You can dress it up with a jubilee or leather, sporty with an oyster and casual with a NATO. I'm confident that the 6282 case will work with 19mm 57 end links, 60 end links, and the 61 end links pictured. I will not get into too many more details here but the bracelets pictured do not fit with all of my 19mm Rolexes and are not interchangeable like they are with this 6282, which gives it a huge plus. Straps and bracelets are just for picture reference only. The curved end link oyster pictured has 19mm and rare 61 end links which are designed for slimmer cases. The bracelet is not available for this listing. I will answer all questions and thank you for looking. Be sure to check out my other items. International Buyers message me first please.
