1960 solid stainless steel Wittnauer Professional Diver Chronograph, reference 7004A. There is a solid screw-down case back, inside of which is engraved Wittnauer Watch Co. The reference number, and the case no. It has round chronograph pushbuttons and a screw-down crown. The 40mm diameter solid three-body case, downturned lugs (one of which--upper-left lug--is damaged and bent as clearly seen in 5 photos--can probably be straightened and polished by a professional with special steel working tools), and bi-directional rotating 60-minute coin-edge dive bezel are polished/brushed.
The bezel has aged to a mulberry color from the original burgundy, and also has a fully lumed triangle and 12-hour scale (lumed triangle believed original but can't verify). The original black dial has the "Geneve" script, aged steel Tritium baton hour markers around a minute/second track, luminous steel baton hands, and a center sweep chronograph "Lollipop" hand with a luminous circle. It has twin subsidiary dials including a small constant seconds dial at 9 o'clock, and a 30-minute register at 3 o'clock. There is a tachymeter scale around the perimeter to 600 UPH.The 13.8mm thick case, dial, crown and movement are all signed. The dial and hands are quite flawless, with original lume thick and even. The mechanical manual winding Wittnauer 14Y movement has been serviced and is running perfectly (see timegraph picture, high amplitude and zero error) It's constructed with 17 jewels, a straight line-lever escapement, a monometallic balance, and a self-compensating flat balance-spring. Brand new German handmade genuine leather band has been added to the watch.
