PLEASE NOTE - PRICE LISTED IS CASH ON COLLECTION. ANYONE WISHING TO GET THIS POSTED - PLEASE SEND ME A MESSAGE BEFOREHAND. Here we have a very clean example of a fairly rare bass. Being from 1973, it features a perloid pick guard as well as a thumb rest on the opposite side of the body. In 1974 they changed the position of the thumb rest to above the strings and stopped issuing perloid pick guards.
So this particular bass in Sunburst/perloid would have only been produced from around 1971-73. These early 70s examples feature a carved body akin to a P bass - the 60s one's (and all modern reissues) have slab bodies. Only minor blemishes on the bass, this was a gigged but well taken care of guitar which was only lightly played for the last 20 or so years. Everything is stock, the frets are lovely and the neck and action are superb. Also has the elusive string muter (minus the sticky rubber). The common mid-late 70s mustang basses are usually made of Ash and feel very different to these early examples (alder/maple). This comes with a period-correct Fender Musicmaster chipboard bass case that's in great condition.
Only trades would be 60s Mosrite bass, or a 70s/80s Rickenbacker bass. The Orange Terror Bass 1000 head with matching Orange SP410 1200 watt Isoberic cab could potentially also be for sale. The head has a hardcase, and the cab is NOS and still has its tags on. The item "Fender Mustang Bass Guitar Vintage 1973.
