Rare Antique Robert Burns Relief Stoneware Wall Plaque, signed, c. 1840-70

This rare antique Robert Burns relief stoneware portrait plaque was made in Scotland or England probably in the mid-1800's. The sculpture is hand constructed by forcing clay into a deep mold and the fine detail is probably hand finished before drying and firing.
