Rare Lejour Super Meangraf Valjoux 7733 Rally 2 Register Chronograph Watch Yema
This watch has been relisted at a lower price because I noticed something that needs attention. When chronograph minute register/hand is past the halfway point (that is, past 15 minutes recorded), it mostly does not reset properly. Instead, it seems to take a couple iterations of start, stop, reset to get it back to zero (it moves a few minutes increment at a time).

This will need some attention/adjustment. Very Rare LeJour Super Meangraf 1970s rally chronograph. I have monitored the watch for the last 36 hours or so and it is keeping good time. All chronograph functions work and reset (with exception of minute reset situation that is mentioned above). It has not been tested for any long term durability, as I have only had the watch a couple of days.

I do not know any service history, and I would certainly recommend getting it serviced if you plan to use it as your daily watch. I suspect it may have had some sort of work done in the recent past. The crystal has only some light surface scratches. And the case gasket looks like new.

The bezel rotates in both directions and I would say it feels a bit loose (easy to turn). It's surely using a retaining spring to hold it in place, and that spring probably needs to be replaced or adjusted a bit if you want the bezel to be tight with regarding to rotating it. This watch was also produced, almost identically, by Yema. I have spent some time searching on the net and found examples with about 6 different bezel variations, but did not find another one with the same bezel as this watch. I do believe it to be original, but no way to know for sure.

The bezel is recessed in a groove in the case (not fully external to the case) so the dimension of the bezel would need to be exact. I also have probably 100 used, vintage bezels that I have stashed away and I could not find one this large (I was hoping I would find one of the same size so I could consider replacing the bezel spring). The most common bezel seems to be the mileage bezel, and there is reference to it on the caseback.

But I have seen other example that have a similar 60 minute bezel like this one, but not the exact same bezel. The bridge of the movement and the inside of the caseback are both marked Le Jour Time Co. The caseback is marked ELAPSED TIME IN FRONT OF DRIVEN AWAY MILES. AVERAGE HOURLY MILEAGE IN FRONT OF THE TRIANGLE. The case appears to be chrome plated, which has some nicks, dings, and wear (on the back edges particularly).

The case back has scratches, obviously from some trying to open the case with an improper tool in the past. All of this should be visible in the photos.

40 mm without the crown, and 43.5 mm with the crown. The watch has a steel Rally style bracelet installed.

This was on the watch when I acquired it and frankly looks great. The red strap should look great with the red color on the dial. I have not done anything to the watch, like polishing the case, etc. With exception of rubbing a little polywatch on the crystal to shine it up a bit. I have listed it with the best offer option.

I may be flexible on price if it does not sell within a few days, but please understand I probably will not accept any offer for a couple days. Please understand that this is a complex, vintage watch and should be serviced for reliable use. If you have any issues with when you first receive it, I have no problem accepting a return.

However, it has not been tested for any long duration and I do not know any service history on it. The item "RARE LEJOUR SUPER MEANGRAF VALJOUX 7733 RALLY 2 REGISTER CHRONOGRAPH WATCH YEMA" is in sale since Wednesday, August 12, 2020.
