The top, back, sides, fingerboard, bridge, nut and neck of this instrument are all solid Hawaiian Koa wood. The Tabu brand on the back of the headstock of this particular instrument indicates that it was made by the Aloha Ukulele Manufacturing Company.
Akai was the psuedonym used by Alohas master builder, a Chinese/Hawaiian. NOTE: This guitar has gone through some extensive luthier work to restore it back to full playability, including the top and back, bridge and tuning pegs. Cosmetically all scratches, cracks and wear have been preserved as much as possible (or as needed) to its original condition to preserve its history and vintage asethetics. Overall it is in very good condition considering its age and history. A ll Strings will need to be replaced; E string is completely broken and removed. Comes with hard case (not original).
