So, put on once but never walked in. The same boots appear onpage 590 of "The collection of the Kyoto CostumeInstitute FASHION, a History from the 18th to the 20th Century".
The photo from the book is the last one in my collection of photographs and you can see that they are identical. These boots did not come from the Kyoto Costume Institute but were recognized by them as significant in the history of fashion. Size 6 1/2 although it would be nice to imagine these would remain unworn. 1" heel and 10" tall overall.
The inner sole way down inside is curled so could be re-glued. No cracking or other issues. Heavy, metal zippers up the back sides. When photographing them, I noticed a black mark near the toe of the left boot. After rubbing it with a soft cloth it lightened/ began to come off but I did not entirely finish the job.
